I’m excited to share an update with you! Two songs I had the privilege to work on have been published by Warner Chappell!
It might seem out of the blue, but this has been the result, so far, of 5 years of songwriting, recording, and working with other artists, songwriters, and producers online! Thank you Kevin, Justin, Sacha, and all other artists involved in creating this album!
Five years ago…
After touring with my band across Canada in 2019 and again for a prairies tour in 2020, I was sold on touring and couldn’t wait to keep going. While we were playing in Saskatoon, COVID hit and lock down started. Much like everyone else, I felt complete whiplash with the new reality of pandemic life.
Between family zoom calls, Netflix binging, and a lot of doom scrolling, I began seeing ads on Facebook for a sync licensing course. It was something I always thought would be amazing to accomplish, hearing one of my songs in film or TV, and with all of this new time on my hands, it was the perfect time to take the leap!
I learned a lot in the course, set up a makeshift home studio and learned how to record my own vocals. My release of “I Can’t Lose You” was the result of placing second in a songwriting competition within the course which enabled me to get the song produced with their online studio.
I didn’t realize it then, but the most life changing thing I walked away with wasn’t just the knowledge I gained but the relationships I made online. Kevin Gordon of Audio Impact took a chance on me and sent me some songs he composed to topline over (write the lyrics, melody, and perform on the recording) and we have been making songs together ever since!
Another wonderful human I met during this time is Noah Nigg! An extremely talented artist, composer, musician, songwriter and on, and on!
We were introduced to each other by Kevin and once we started working together, we haven’t stopped! One day, while working on a cover song project I asked Noah if he might consider producing an album of my original music - and he agreed! This is a story that I want to share in more detail, and when my album is out (which it’s so close) I will share more about .
ANYWAYS if you’ve read this far, thank you!! It’s hard to condense 5 years into one post - but I am excited to have 2 songs on this album published and released by Warner Chappell - a major step closer to hearing a my songs in film and TV one day 🤞
